Doing What I Love and Lovin' What I Do

I have started, yet again, to read the book, One Thousand Gifts (see it to over there >>> that's it if you want to grab a copy!) for the second time. This book is beautiful and it is all things lovely, but it is so stinkin' hard to read! It is like reading a giant book of poetry and the King James bible all wrapped up in one! She is a great writer and brings to mind so many blessing we have before us but I sometimes wish she could use simple terms. I have not written much about my goals for this year as I did last. Not that I was not happy with last year but I felt as if 2011 was a stagnant year for our family. We are healthy and happy and well but we have yet to really be in a place to allow for God's gifts of mercy and grace to freely flow through us because of every day struggles we are trudging through. I love reading this book because it reminds me of the simple, every day gifts before me. One is the ability to be able to share my heart and soul with you through this blog. Let's face it, I'm just a mom on a food mission with a cast iron and a computer. I am not an expert in any field, I am just a cook who has a passion for feeding others because it is the gift I have been blessed with that has allowed me to stay at home with my precious muffins these past five years. The Yellow Rose is my virtual cafe, a place where you can hopefully come to sit and relax and get some inspiration to help you make some memories in your own world. My goals for 2012 are fairly simple, live abundantly, remain true to my roots...even in my cowboy boots, and share the love of our maker in any avenue that I can. I thank you for stopping by and I ask that you please take a moment to share some of these recipes with those that you love and let me know how you like them! May you be blessed this 2012 and may your world be full of good food, many friends and many more visits to the Yellow Rose Cafe! Enjoy Y'all!
